The "Human Rights Concerts" Saluted with Prestigious Screening Events!

To celebrate the first-ever release of the "Human Rights Concerts" in any format - and in commemoration of the 65th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights - Amnesty's concert series was honored with special theatrical screening events in New York and Los Angeles - presented by two of America's most prestigious cultural organizations.

The Museum of Modern Art in New York and The American Cinematheque in Los Angeles.

The Museum of Modern Art in Manhattan presented the New York Premieres of ¡RELEASED! - a new 93-minute film of highlights from the concerts and LIGHT A CANDLE! - the 40-minute documentary about the history of the series. The MoMA Premiere took place on International Human Rights Day - that in 2013 commemorated the 65th anniversary of the signing of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

NEW YORK

The Museum of Modern Art in New York presented the New York Premiere of the two films on International Human Rights Day - Tuesday December 10th.

The sold-out screening was attended by DVD box-set producer Martin Lewis - and Ann Burroughs, Chair of the Board of Amnesty International USA - who both made presentations before the screening

LOS ANGELES

The American Cinematheque in Los Angeles presented the World Premieres of the two films at The Aero Theatre in Santa Monica on Sunday November 3rd.

The sold-out screening was attended by Andy Summers and Stewart Copeland of The Police and DVD box-set producer Martin Lewis - who discussed the concerts in a post-screening panel discussion with Ann Burroughs - Chair of the Board of Amnesty International USA. Also attending the event was the new Executive Director of Amnesty International USA - Steven Hawkins.
